The unique design features individually mitered squares measuring 2" x 2" that are raised yielding a delightful playing surface for the beautifully crafted chess pieces that are weighted and have been polished by hand. Important to the integrity of the board, the playing surface is solid wood and the entire board is wrapped in a frame of hardwood approximately 2" wide and 1 1/4" thick. Corners are mitered.
